Jon Snow Game Of Thrones Movie
Jon Snow is a fictional character in American author George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy books and its television adaptation Game of Thrones, in which he is played by English actor Kit Harington. He is a key point of view character in the books. He’s one of the series’ most popular characters, and The New York Times calls him one of the author’s best inventions. Jon is a prominent character in the TV show, and his plot in the season 5 finale drew a lot of attention. Fans of both the novels and the television series have speculated about the character’s parentage.
Jon is introduced as the illegitimate son of Ned Stark, Lord of Winterfell in the North of Westeros, in the 1996 film A Game of Thrones. Jon joins the Night’s Watch, who protect the far northern boundaries against the wildlings who live beyond The Wall, knowing that his chances are restricted by his position as a bastard. Jon joins a scouting group probing the mounting danger from the otherworldly “Others” beyond the Wall in A Clash of Kings (1998), and infiltrates the wildlings. In A Storm of Swords (2000), Jon learns of their intentions to conquer Westeros and falls in love with the wildling lady Ygritte. Jon betrays the wildlings and Ygritte, then returns to protect the Night’s Watch against the wildling invasion and is appointed Lord Commander of the Watch. He makes a brief appearance in A Feast for Crows (2005) before returning as a major character in A Dance with Dragons (2011), in which he attempts to broker an alliance between the Night’s Watch and the wildlings against the Others; his policies are met with hostility by some in the Watch, and he is assassinated in a mutiny at the novel’s conclusion.
Jon’s plotline on HBO’s Game of Thrones follows the character’s plot arc from the book series, however, seasons 6–8 continue from Martin’s most recent published volume. Harington was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Drama in 2019, two Emmy Awards in 2016 and 2019 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and two Critics’ Choice Television Awards for the role.
