What about Mickey Minnie?
Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks collaborated in 1928 to develop the iconic animated character Mickey Mouse. The Walt Disney Company’s longstanding mascot, Mickey, is an anthropomorphic mouse dressed in red shorts, huge yellow shoes, and white gloves. Walt Disney’s wife Lillian offered the name “Mickey” in response to Walt’s initial moniker, “Mortimer Mouse,” during a train excursion in 1928. When it comes to popular fictional characters, Mickey is a household name.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, a previous cartoon character developed by the Disney company but owned by Universal Pictures, was replaced by Mickey Mouse.
He functioned as an intermediary between Disney and Universal via his firm, Winkler Pictures, to make the Oswald cartoon series. Disney severed relations with Oswald because to tensions between the two companies, as well as the discovery that some Disney artists would soon quit to work for Mintz’s firm. Animator Ub Iwerks, apprentice artist Les Clark, and Wilfred Jackson were among the few who remained at the Disney studio. After returning from New York City, Walt started brainstorming ideas for a new cartoon character while riding the train.
