Meatballs is a 1979 Canadian comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman. It is notable for being Bill Murray’s first leading film performance and for establishing Reitman’s filmmaking career, with succeeding comedies including Stripes (1981) and Ghostbusters (1984), both starring Murray.

The film won the Golden Reel Award for being the highest-grossing Canadian picture of all time in the United States and Canada.
