Who directed the film Vampyros Lesbos?

Vampyros Lesbos (Spanish: Las Vampiras) is a 1971 West German-Spanish sexual horror film directed and co-written by Jes Franco. Ewa Strömberg plays Linda Westinghouse, an American working at a Turkish law office. Westinghouse has a series of sexual nightmares about a mysterious vampire lady who seduces her before eating her blood. When Linda visits to an island to settle an inheritance, she identifies a lady as the vampire from her visions.

The film was made in Turkey in 1970. It was a big hit in European cinemas upon its premiere, and it was the first picture to have a more psychedelic soundtrack for a Franco film, as well as the first to have a lesbian subject as a significant part of the film. The film’s music rose to prominence in the mid-1990s when it was featured in the collection Vampyros Lesbos: Sexadelic Dance Party, which went on to become a top 10 success on the British Alternative charts.
