Who is Gozer?
The primary adversary of Ghostbusters is a being called Gozer, who also goes under the names Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Gozer the Traveler, Volguus Zildrohar, and Lord of the Sebouillia. It is an old, ultra-powerful, malevolent creature from another dimension that was called to New York City in 1984 and to Summerville in 2021 with the intention of destroying the earth in both locations.
In the film, Peter’s reference to Gozer as “Flattop” is a reference to the original film, in which Ray instructs the protagonist to “Aim for the flattop!”
