Night of the Living Dead is a 1968 American independent horror film directed, shot, and edited by George A. Romero, with a script by John Russo and Romero and starring Duane Jones and Judith O’Dea. The plot revolves on seven individuals who are trapped in a rural farmhouse in western Pennsylvania that is being attacked by an increasing horde of flesh-eating, undead ghouls.

Barbra and Johnny travel to a cemetery in rural Pennsylvania to visit their father’s grave. Due to technical issues, their vehicle radio goes out of service. As they are leaving, a bizarre, ashen-faced, unstable guy in a ragged suit murders Johnny and assaults Barbra. She runs and seeks refuge in a farmhouse, but discovers the lady who lived there dead and half-eaten. She notices an increasing number of odd ghouls approaching the home, followed by the guy from the graveyard. A man called Ben comes, secures the farmhouse by boarding the windows and doors, and chases the ghouls away with a lever-action rifle he found in the closet and fire, which the ghouls dread.
