Who is Aladdin (Disney character)?
Aladdin is a fictitious character that appears in Walt Disney Pictures’ 31st animated feature film of the same name, which is based on the Middle Eastern folk story Aladdin. Scott Weinger, an American actor, provides his voice, while Brad Kane provides his singing voice. He also appears in the animated television series Aladdin and the King of Thieves, as well as the two direct-to-video sequels The Return of Jafar (1994) and Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996). In a live-action rendition of the 1992 film, Mena Massoud plays a live-action version of the role.
Aladdin is an 18-year-old guy when he is first presented. He never had a formal education and learned what he knows by living on the streets of Agrabah. In order to live, he must steal food from the local market. Cassim, Aladdin’s father, abandoned him and his mother when he was a child in order to provide a better life for his family. Aladdin, like other Disney characters, was shown with big eyes to convey innocence. His body lineaments are more free-flowing and rounded than those of other Disney heroes. Except for his clothes, he appears like a contemporary 18-year-old. He is often referred to as a street rat throughout the film.
Aladdin is shown as a quick-witted and ultimately loving individual. He is a gallant young man who, like other Disney male heroes, wants to gain the attention of many other characters, demonstrating his uncertainty. He is not beyond lying and stealing for the sake of survival, albeit never maliciously. The most notable distinction is that, unlike other young Disney heroes, he is a doer rather than a passive figure. He wears a crimson fez cap, a purple vest, a baggy cream dhoti (with a patch concealing a hole) and travels barefoot as a street urchin; he maintains this look even after his engagement to Jasmine in the animated series.
