Johnny Gasparini

Johnny Gasparini is a minor antagonist in the 1985 comedy film Better Off Dead. Johnny is a little child who distributes newspapers in Greendale, California. Johnny is a paperboy who seems and behaves rough. When delivering papers, he is known to hurl them forcefully. Johnny’s papers are constantly tossed into Al Myer’s garage door windows.

Later, Johnny makes a visit to the Myer home and Al’s son Lane Myer, telling Lane, “Four weeks, twenty papers, that’s two bucks.” “Plus a gratuity.” Johnny, I don’t have a penny.” I didn’t ask for a penny. Two bucks. “Well… it’s funny see… my mum had to leave early to take my brother to school and my dad to work coz…”, “two bucks… cash.” See, the issue here is that… my little brother had his arm trapped in the microwave this morning, and um… my grandma dropped acid and freaked out, and kidnapped a school bus full of… penguins, so it’s sort of a family situation… so come back later? Great.”
