Captain Spaulding Rob Zombie Halloween Horror Movie
Captain Spaulding (born Johnny Lee Johns and sometimes known as “Cutter”) is a Rob Zombie creation. Sid Haig played the role for the first time in Zombie’s 2003 horror flick House of 1000 Corpses. Haig played Spaulding again in the sequels The Devil’s Rejects (2005) and 3 from Hell (2007). (2019). In the 2009 animated feature The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, Haig again played Spaulding. The figure is portrayed as a cruel and homicidal clown.
Spaulding is represented in House of 1000 Corpses as the owner of a gas station and fried chicken restaurant that also contains a roadside attraction known as Captain Spaulding’s Museum of Monsters and Madmen. He is revealed to be the patriarch of the Firefly family in The Devil’s Rejects. The figure, as well as Haig, has been dubbed “icons of a contemporary horror film.”
