Who is Chappy Sinclair?

In the Iron Eagle saga, Colonel Charles “Chappy” Sinclair is a major character who first takes on the role of the deuteragonist in the first episode and then assumes the role of the protagonist in the second installment. He is a veteran of the Vietnam war and served as an Air Force pilot. While serving in Vietnam, he met and became friends with Col. Ted Masters, and later became friends with Doug Masters, the son of the latter.
