Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion Anime Manga
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, or simply Code Geass, is a Sunrise-produced Japanese anime television series. Gor Taniguchi directed the film, which was scripted by Ichirkouchi and used Clamp’s original character designs. It follows the exiled prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who gets the “power of ultimate obedience” from a mysterious lady called C.C. in an alternative chronology. He leads a revolt against the sovereignty of the Holy Britannian Empire, leading a series of mecha fights, using this supernatural ability known as Geass. From October 2006 to July 2007, MBS broadcasted Code Geass in Japan. From April through September 2008, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 aired as a simulcast on MBS and TBS. The series has also been converted into a number of manga and light novels, the latter of which depicts different situations from the TV program.
Between 2017 and 2018, a compilation remake film trilogy called Initiation, Transgression, and Glorification was published, recapping the events of both anime series’ seasons while also altering narratives for major characters and establishing an alternative universe[4]. In February 2019, a new original film named Code Geass Lelouch of the Resurrection was premiered in cinemas, taking place after the Zero Requiem of the film trilogy’s parallel reality. As part of a 10-year plan, Code Geass: Z of the Recapture, an anime series set in the same other reality, was announced in December 2020.
In December 2007, Bandai Entertainment licensed the majority of the franchise for English distribution, with both TV series running on Adult Swim in the United States. Bandai has also published most manga and light novels in North America. In Japan, Code Geass was warmly welcomed, with over a million DVD and Blu-ray Discs sold. At the Tokyo International Anime Fair, the Animage Anime Grand Prix, and the Animation Kobe event, both seasons received multiple honors. It gained great praise for its plot, voice acting, wide audience appeal, major character problems, and moral concerns it raised.
