Mickey Minnie Facts
The Walt Disney Company developed Minnie Mouse as a cartoon character. She is an anthropomorphic mouse with white gloves, a bow, a polka-dotted frock, white bloomers, and low-heeled shoes that sometimes have ribbons on them. Minerva Mouse was given her complete name for the first time in the Mickey Mouse comic strip tale “The Gleam” by Merrill De Maris and Floyd Gottfredson (published January 19 – May 2, 1942).
Minnie is a lady who is elegant, serene, sassy, well-mannered, cheery, and feminine. She is full of love and devotion, is kind to all of her friends, and understands her etiquette. Stella McCartney developed a blue pantsuit with black polka dots and matching ribbon to replace her red polka dot dress in 2022.
Her father Marcus Mouse and her nameless mother, both farmers, were introduced in the comic strip tale “Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers” (published September 22 – December 26, 1930). The same piece included photos of Minnie’s uncle Milton Mouse and his family, as well as her grandparents Marvel and Matilda Mouse. Her best-known relatives, though, are her uncle Mortimer Mouse (Mortimer was practically the same as Mickey) and her twin nieces, Millie and Melody Mouse, but she usually appears with only Melody. Minnie is often shown as Mickey Mouse’s girlfriend, best friend with Daisy Duck, and a companion of Clarabelle Cow.
