Who is Dabi ?
It’s no secret that Toya Todoroki aka Dabi (Japanese: Dabi) is one of the main antagonists in the My Hero Academia manga and anime.
The Pro Hero Endeavor’s eldest son has been driven insane by his father’s neglect and has taken on the role of a villain to exact revenge. A member of the Vanguard Action Squad in the League of Villains, he became one of nine lieutenants of the Paranormal Liberation Front, which he joined after the organization’s disbandment. In the Forest Training Camp, Pro Hero, and Paranormal Liberation War arcs, he and his teammates serve as major antagonists.
The lively and exuberant Toya wanted to learn as much as possible from his father when he was a youngster. Enji, his father, had always hammered home the point that he would be the one to dethrone All Might, and so Toya grew up believing that he, too, would be the one to do it. It was so strong a desire to surpass All Might that despite Enji’s repeated pleas to abandon it, he refused and continued training, burning himself out in the process. By using the analogy of an insatiable flame, Toya emphasized how his childhood dream had turned into an unhealthy obsession, making it clear that Toya had no choice but to pursue it. He wanted nothing more than for his father to acknowledge and prove to his mother that he wasn’t a failure.
The League of Villains’ Vanguard Action Squad counts Dabi as one of its most formidable members and de facto leader, thanks in part to his father, Endeavor, who began training him at a young age and who also required him to put in extensive self-training. Dabi has killed more than 30 people since joining the League, establishing himself as a dangerous criminal and mass murderer. Dabi’s Quirk allows him to control his own blue flames, which are greater than regular flames since he hates his father, but also gives him excellent long-range powers.
