What happened Dissection band?

Dissection was a Strömstad-based Swedish extreme metal band founded in 1989 by guitarist, singer, and primary composer Jon Nödtveidt and bassist Peter Palmdahl. Dissection released The Somberlain in 1993 and Storm of the Light’s Bane in 1995, despite a series of lineup changes, before breaking up in 1997 owing to Nödtveidt’s incarceration for participation in the murder of Josef Meddour.

After his release, Nödtveidt reformed the band in 2004 with new members who he felt could “stand behind and live up to the demands of Dissection’s Satanic concept.” They disbanded in June 2006 after releasing their third and last full-length album, Reinkaos. Nödtveidt said that he had “hit the limits of music as a means for communicating what I want to communicate, for myself and the few individuals I care about.” Nödtveidt committed himself with a pistol within a circle of lighted candles in his Hässelby flat two months later.
