Who is Eren Yeager Attack Titan?
Eren Yeager (Japanese: Hepburn: Eren Yg) is a fictional character and the protagonist of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga series. He is also known as Eren Jaeger (Turkish: Eren, “Saint”) (German: Jaeger/Jäger, “Hunter”) in the subtitled and dubbed versions of the anime Attack on Titan. Eren is a boy who vows vengeance on the Titans, massive animals that devoured his mother and devastated his hamlet in Wall Maria’s Shiganshina region. To battle the Titans, Eren enlists in the military and joins the Survey Corps, an elite organization of troops that fight Titans beyond the walls while simultaneously studying their physiology in order to understand what they’re up against. Eren obtains the ability to become a Titan as the tale unfolds and is subsequently dubbed “Attack Titan” (, Shingeki no Kyojin). He’s also been seen in anime and video games, among other things.
Eren was developed by Isayama with the intention of creating a realistic figure whose fears and desires contrasted with his own darkness, resulting in many characterization modifications. Eren is voiced by Yki Kaji in Japanese and Bryce Papenbrook in the English version of the anime adaptation of the series. Both of these performers struggled to use various voices as Eren matures during the story. Haruma Miura portrays him in the live-action movie versions.
Eren’s critical reaction was split, with some critics believing he was too abrasive and severe for his age. The character’s principles and newfound abilities as a Titan, as well as his character journey, received positive feedback. Later arcs of the manga and anime have gotten better reviews as he becomes a more ambiguous rather than heroic character, as indicated by Eren’s nomination for “Best Protagonist” and “Best Antagonist” at the 2022 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, where he won the latter category. Despite this, the character is well-liked among Attack on Titan fans. His voice performers were commended for portraying the role well.
