What’s Going on with Max and Lucas in ‘Stranger Things’
Stranger Things’ violence hurts relationships. Yikes! Blood! Interstellar travel unnecessary! Ask Sadie Sink and Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin).
Season 4’s pair has issues. They separated up without explanation before Volume 1. After Billy’s death, Max has wilted and Lucas has taken to athletics (Dacre Montgomery). The first Hellfire Club episode doesn’t explain why Max and Lucas “broke up.” Max’s actress, Sadie Sink, describes their off-screen rift.
“Max began shutting down at FYSEE in L.A.,” says Sink. “Lucas sought additional information.” remarked “She was overwhelmed. “They’re so different,” she adds. “Lucas is thriving and dishonest.” Max avoids Mike and Dustin, as Lucas attacks them. Lucas’s basketball game is postponed after she misses her guidance counselor. In the premiere, Lucas informs Max she’s a “ghost.” She’s scared Max. Sink claims she’s never had someone like Lucas. “She’s never loved Lucas. She avoids/can’t decide.”
Season 4 brings two wild youngsters together. Vecna will next target Hawkins, IN. Max and Lucas safeguard their house when one is in jeopardy. When the moment is right, they’re pals. They cling to one other in despair after their close call. Max and Lucas haven’t announced their love.
Sink says Max’s desire for Lucas lasts all season. She’s challenging. She doesn’t require therapy.”
