Some Facts about Stranger Things You should know.
The show wasn’t originally called Stranger Things.
The Duffer brothers initially planned to name their series Montauk. When producing the series, they turned to the New York town where alleged government experiments took place for inspiration. After moving to Indiana, they examined other choices.
Real time travel inspired Stranger Things
As noted, the play was inspired by Montauk’s mysteries. The Montauk Project is a conspiracy theory claiming the U.S. government conducted experiments at Montauk, New York, to develop psychological warfare tactics, including time travel.
Stranger Things Almost Became an Anthology
The original series explored fresh people and storylines every season from the 1980s until now. Fortunately, the Duffers recognized their opportunity.
Used 150 wigs
Noah Schnapp, David Harbour, and others wore nearly 150 wigs in season two. Noah Schnapp required extensions for Will Byers’ bowl cut, while David Harbour shaved his head for Jim Hopper. Halloween scenes included several wigs.
Hair CGI
Millie Bobby Brown shaved her head in the first season to play Eleven, to her father’s dismay. The Duffers didn’t want to put her (or her dad) through it again, so they employed computer effects and a wig.
