Why would people like to see the Haunted Mansion?
All three Disney parks have The Haunted Mansion. The haunted home features “Doom Buggie” rides and a queue-line walk-through. Each location employs varied technology, from ancient effects to Audio-Animatronics. Phantom Manor and Mystic Manor are similar Disneyland attractions.
Jim and Sara Evers have Michael and Megan. Jim misses his anniversary and recommends a lake excursion. Jim takes his family to Gracey Manor, where he meets Edward Gracey, his butler Ramsley, and Emma and Ezra.
Gracey lets the family sleep through the deluge. Ramsley brings Jim to the library to visit Gracey, but he becomes lost in a tunnel. Gracey shows Sara his “grandfather’s” estate and recalls Elizabeth Henshaw’s suicide. Megan and Michael follow an orb to the attic and find Sara’s photo. She’s Elizabeth, say Emma and Ezra.
Jim meets Madame Leota in a crystal ball. Leota questions him about Elizabeth’s likeness to Sara when he meets Emma, Ezra, and his children. The spirits of Elizabeth and Gracey haunt the home; Sara is Elizabeth’s reincarnation. Leota sends the Evers to Elizabeth’s gravesite. Jim and Megan find a tomb’s key but awaken the undead. Michael’s arachnophobia saves them.
Jim discovers a letter Elizabeth wrote to Gracey saying she loved him and intended to marry him in an attic trunk. Ramsley says he murdered Elizabeth to stop Gracey from abandoning his ancestry. Ramsley locks the kids in a trunk and sends Jim out to conceal the truth. Gracey asks Sara whether she recognizes him at the ballroom and thinks she’s Elizabeth. As Sara denies being Elizabeth, Gracey’s spirit dances. Ramsley tells Gracey she’ll remember Sara’s identity. Sara marries Gracey because of Ramsley’s blackmail.
Leota helps Jim re-enter the estate, rescue his children, and stop the wedding. Gracey’s letter reveals Ramsley’s misconduct. Ramsley attacks the group with wraiths because Gracey seems selfish for loving Elizabeth. A blazing creature draws Ramsley to Hell as the truth is exposed. Gracey slays Ramsley. The ghostly orb dominates Sara after Ramsley poisons her during the wedding. Elizabeth’s ghost praises Jim for safeguarding her as the orb. Resurrecting Sara reunites Elizabeth and Gracey.
Gracey delivers the Evers the mansion’s deed and dies alongside Elizabeth, Emma, Ezra, and the others. The Evers transport Leota and four singing busts across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway.
