Hocus Pocus is a 1993 American fantasy comedy horror film written by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris and directed by Kenny Ortega. The plot revolves on a nasty comedy trio of witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy) who are accidentally revived by a virgin adolescent guy (Omri Katz) on Halloween night in Salem, Massachusetts.
Walt Disney Pictures distributed the picture in the United States on July 16, 1993. It earned mediocre reviews from reviewers and was a box office disaster, perhaps costing Disney $16.5 million during its theatrical run.
