Albert Herman is the director of the American drama film Hot Off the Press, which was released in 1935. The story was adapted from Peter B. Kyne’s work for the second time out of a total of eight times. Reporter Bill Jeffry decides to work for the competing paper, the Star-Bulletin, rather than the Evening Call. When one of the Star’s daring newsboys, Mickey Karnes, is assaulted, Bill, who was just in the wrong location at the wrong time, finds himself unfairly accused of carrying out the assault. Mickey Karnes was one of the first people to report the assault. He immediately begins the process of identifying the true perpetrator.
