Who produced Carnival of Souls?

Carnival of Souls is a 1962 American independent horror film produced and directed by Herk Harvey, written by John Clifford from a screenplay by Clifford and Harvey, and starring Candace Hilligoss. Its narrative revolves around Mary Henry, a young lady whose life is upended by an automobile accident. She moves to a new city, where she struggles to fit in and is lured to the pavilion of an abandoned carnival. Director Harvey also appears in the film as a ghastly stranger who pursues her throughout.

Carnival of Souls was filmed on a $33,000 budget in Lawrence, Kansas, and Salt Lake City, and Harvey finished the production using different guerilla filming tactics. It was Harvey’s lone feature picture, and it was released as part of a double feature alongside the now-largely forgotten The Devil’s Messenger in 1962.
