Kim Possible Cartoon
Kim Possible is an animated comedy-adventure film produced in the United States. Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle developed the Disney Channel television series. The main character is a teen girl who is entrusted with combatting crime on a daily basis while dealing with normal adolescent concerns. Ron Stoppable, Kim’s bumbling best friend and ultimate love interest, his pet nude mole-rat Rufus, and ten-year-old computer whiz Wade all help her. Kim and Ron, who work together as Team Possible, are tasked with foiling the wicked schemes of Dr. Drakken and his sidekick Shego, as well as other villains.
Kim Possible is a program about a brilliant action heroine and her less capable sidekick, created by veteran Disney Channel writers Schooley and McCorkle for the network in order to make an animated series that could appeal to both older and younger viewers. Kim Possible is based on the creators’ own high school experiences and combines elements of action, adventure, drama, romance, and comedy to appeal to both girls and boys while parodying the James Bond franchise, spy and superhero films, and teen sitcoms. It was inspired by the scarcity of female-led animated series at the time. Schooley and McCorkle produced fast-paced sitcom-style language to appeal to adult audiences, which set them apart from previous Disney Channel series in terms of self-referential comedy. The show’s setting and locales are retro-influenced, and it takes place in the fictitious town of Middleton, Colorado.
Kim Possible is the second animated series on Disney Channel and the first to be created solely by Walt Disney Television Animation. It was also the first high-definition Disney Channel animated series. After 87 episodes and four seasons, the show concluded on September 7, 2007. Kim Possible was a critical success, and it went on to become one of Disney’s most popular and well-received shows. A Sitch in Time (2003) and So the Drama (2003) were both created for television during the show’s existence (2005). Home media releases, toys, and video games were also produced as part of the series’ merchandising. In 2019, the same name was used for a live-action television film.
