Where is Cuesta Verde?

Cuesta Verde is a suburban area in a valley in California, USA, where the events of the Poltergeist film series started.

Cuesta Verde was formerly a desolate and unexplored valley. In the early 1800s A.D., a group of religious individuals journeyed to this region of California on a pilgrimage and established here in an effort to construct an ideal community. Their spiritual leader, Henry Kane, a preacher who guided them to the area, commanded that they barricade themselves in an underground cavern because he said the End of Days, the apocalypse, was approaching. They did so and shut themselves in. Henry prophesied the end would come and go, but he refused to let his people leave. The cult members were all reaching out and pleading for aid, which never came since they worshiped Kane. They’ve already made a fateful choice. The spirits of the deceased cultists.
