What is the deal with Street Trash?

The proprietor of a liquor shop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, New York City, discovers a case of cheap acidic alcohol (“Tenafly Viper”) in his cellar. It’s almost 60 years old and has gone rotten, but he chooses to sell it to the neighborhood hobos regardless. Unfortunately, everyone who drinks the Viper melts away horribly.

Simultaneously, two homeless brothers discover various methods to live with homelessness while living at a nearby junkyard, while one employee, a female cashier, and clerk, regularly looks after both of them. Meanwhile, an overzealous cop (Bill Chepil) is attempting to solve all of the deaths while also attempting to end the tyranny of Bronson (Vic Noto), a deranged Vietnam veteran who has established his self-proclaimed “kingdom” at the junkyard with a group of homeless vets under his command as his personal henchmen.

There are many darkly humorous deaths and injuries in the picture. It also has the infamous “severed privates” scene, in which a group of homeless people plays catch with one of their number’s severed genitals while he futilely tries to retrieve it.
