The Mist (also known as Stephen King’s The Mist) is a 2007 American science fiction horror film based on Stephen King’s 1980 novella “The Mist.” Frank Darabont wrote and directed the picture. Darabont has wanted to make a film adaptation of “The Mist” since the 1980s. Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Nathan Gamble, Andre Braugher, Toby Jones, Frances Sternhagen, Buck Taylor, William Sadler, Sam Witwer, Alexa Davalos, Chris Owen, Andy Stahl, Jeffrey DeMunn, Laurie Holden, Melissa McBride, and Juan Gabriel Pareja appear in the film.
The filmmaker changed the film’s finale to be harsher than the novella’s ending, which King agreed to. Darabont also sought for distinct monster designs to distinguish them from his previous films’ creatures.
