The Stepfather 90S Scary Movie Halloween Horror Movie
The Stepfather, directed by Joseph Ruben and starring Terry O’Quinn, Jill Schoelen, and Shelley Hack, is a 1987 American psychological horror film. O’Quinn plays a serial murderer who assumes the persona of a widow with a teenage daughter. Once murdering his former family and changing his name, his deadly impulses continue after his stepdaughter suspects him. The narrative is more usually associated with slasher films of the period while being loosely based on the life of mass killer John List. Donald E. Westlake wrote the screenplay from a narrative by Westlake, Carolyn Lefcourt, and Brian Garfield, with an uncredited rewrite by David Loughery.
On January 23, 1987, the picture was released in theaters in the United States. It earned $2.5 million at the box office and garnered positive reviews from reviewers. It has since established a cult following and has been followed by two sequels, Stepfather II (1989) and Stepfather III (1992), as well as a 2009 remake, also titled The Stepfather.
