Tokyo Revengers Otaku Manga Japan Anime
Tokyo Revengers started as a manga series written and drawn by Ken Wakui that has been published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since March 2017. It won the 44th Kodansha Manga Award in the shonen category, and as of February 2021, it has sold over 8 million copies. Kodansha USA started releasing the manga in English in October 2018.
An anime adaptation has been scheduled for June 2020. It is produced by Liden Films and directed by Koichi Hatsumi, with Yasuyuki Muto handling series composition, Keiko Ota and Kenichi Ohnuki handling character designs, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi composing the soundtrack. The opening theme music for the anime is “Cry Baby” by Official HiGE DANdism, while the closing theme song is “Koko de Iki o Shite” by eill. The anime will air on MBS and other networks in Japan on April 10, 2021. Crunchyroll will broadcast the series in North America.
