Introduction of Vecna.
Vecna is the fourth season’s major adversary. Adult Jamie Campbell Bower and youngster Raphael Luce play him.
Vecna, a terrible Upside-Down demon, was formerly Henry Creel. Henry learned he had psychokinetic skills after arriving to Hawkins in 1959. Henry exploited his talents to torment his family, murdering his mother and sister and framing his father, which drove him nuts.
These occurrences interested Dr. Martin Brenner, who transported Henry to Hawkins National Laboratory to study him. He was named 001, the lab’s first test subject. Brenner inserted Soteria in Henry’s neck, a device that inhibited his abilities and watched his every step. Henry eventually became one of Brenner’s orderlies. Brenner replicated Henry’s talents in other young test volunteers with limited mobility.
Henry duped Eleven into deleting the Soteria chip in 1979. Henry killed the other test subjects with his newfound abilities and tried to kill Eleven. Eleven maintained her ground and overcame him, sending him to the Upside Down, where he became Vecna.
Vecna reappeared in 1986 and started slaughtering Hawkins citizens with his curse power. Dustin, Nancy, Max, and others started researching the killings, nicknaming the killer “Vecna”
