What is the story of I Was a Teenage Werewolf about?

When I Was a Teenager Werewolf is a low-budget B-movie that is best described as a hybrid between The Wolf Man and Rebel Without a Cause. Michael Landon plays Tony, a rambunctious adolescent whose quick temper has caused social problems and raised concerns among his father, girlfriend Arlene (Yvonne Lime), and local cop Detective Donovan (Barney Phillips).

Tony agrees to visit Dr. Brandon (Whit Bissell), a psychologist who utilizes hypnosis to heal his patients, after belting his friend Vic (Ken Miller) for no reason. Brandon, in actuality, is a crazy scientist who plans to use medicines and hypnosis to regress Tony to his most basic form.

A kid is murdered not long after Tony’s first session by what the authorities suspect is some sort of animal, but when Tony changes in front of Arlene at their school, the reality is revealed: Tony is a werewolf. With the townspeople gripped by dread, the police begin a manhunt, which the werewolf successfully avoids.

Tony returns to the dangerous Dr. Brandon after regaining his human form. When the frothing Tony goes insane, the shrink’s eagerness to observe Tony in his primitive werewolf state goes haywire, leading to a terrible climax.
