Phineas And Ferb Cartoon
Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh developed Phineas and Ferb, a Disney Channel and Disney XD animated musical-comedy sitcom. The series was first shown as a one-episode preview on August 17, 2007, and then again on September 28, 2007. It officially launched on Disney Channel on February 1, 2008, and lasted until June 12, 2015. It was produced by Disney Television Animation.
During summer vacation, the show follows Phineas Flynn and his stepbrother Ferb Fletcher, who are both between the ages of eight and 10. Every day, the boys start a big new project, which is frequently out of proportion to their ages (and is sometimes physically impossible). This irritates Candace, their domineering elder sister, who attempts to expose their antics to Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Ferb’s mother, and Ferb’s father, Lawrence Fletcher, on a regular basis. The series follows a standard plot structure; running gags appear in every episode, and the subplot almost always involves Phineas and Ferb’s pet platypus Perry working as a spy named “Agent P” for the O.W.C.A. (Organization Without a Cool Acronym) to foil Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz’s latest scheme, which is driven largely by a desire to assert his evilness (although he is not genuinely evil and has a good heart in certain situations). The two plots come together, in the end, to wipe out all evidence of the boys’ effort just as Candace is about to reveal it to their mother, which generally irritates Candace.
Povenmire and Marsh previously collaborated on The Simpsons for Fox and Rocko’s Modern Life for Nickelodeon. Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram, two key characters in the B-plot, are also voiced by the creators. After sketching a triangular child — the prototype for Phineas – at a café, Povenmire came up with the idea for Phineas and Ferb. Povenmire and Marsh collaborated on the series premise for 16 years, pitching it to networks until it landed on Disney Channel.
